new digs

I'm not even going to pretend that my mental state right now is stable or that I've actually had a full nights rest for the past week and a half. So let's just get that out of the way in the beginning! The Sallie writing this post is an emotional wreck! I don't even have Internet - I'm typing this on my teeny phone and using my precious data plan.

Anyway - we've moved! And with the move came a buttload of other life changes which has left me feeling like someone just ran my brain through a blender. Not to be all "woe is me" or anything but woe is freaking me!!

Okay. Enough complaining! I wanted to introduce you guys to my new work space. It has a door and everything!
I have two "tables" (two sawhorses with a hollow core door balanced on top - gits 'er done) one with my sewing machines and one for cutting and drafting. Also behold my closet with the world's smallest sewing stash!! I'm sure I'll fill the space up in no time, but right now it feels a bit empty and forlorn.

Well friends, please forgive my continued silence around these parts and in commenting on your blogs while I try to get my life back on track. Despite the relative upheaval my mushy little brain still seems to be churning out ideas for future sewing projects. So hopefully this transition period can pass with relative grace and I'll meet you on the other side with some beautiful things to share!

(also please excuse any wonkiness in the formatting of this post. I've never used this blogger app before so I have no idea what this will look like!)

xx

  7. Studies show that if you believe everything is going to be alright, it makes you feel better, actually lowers your stress level, etc. I was just talking about this today, and I recommend it, just saying it to yourself helps. :) Some inspiration on the walls might make your new space feel more like home? Good luck!

  9. That room is so pretty and airy it will be a delight to work in! I agree - decorate it in a way so that you have a sigh of contentment whenever you open the door. Your haven.
I'm so sorry you are so stressed. I so wish I was closer and could help! It will get better!

  10. Lookin' good! So jealous of your built-ins :) Isn't it nice to have the bulk of stress out of the way for now? I've still got a whole house to paint by the end of the month (EW!), but I'm so so so happy that I'm done moving giant furniture around & tripping over boxes. You'll get there! And it will be WORTH IT.

  14. Hopefully you get your shit together because you know how we hunger for your magic (kidding... sort of. Take your time! Enjoy the summer!) Hope your woes are less woesome in the weeks to come... I'm taking a little sewing break for the next week or two since I realized I spent almost every beautiful weekend this summer sewing instead of, you know, going on picnics. Love the new space! A whole room! Luxury!
